2007 Le Vieux Logis Cotes du Rhone Villages

There is much praise for the 2007 vintage year in the Cotes du Rhone District of France. We've tasted a few and have to agree with the prediction that this vintage will be a classic! While the dollar is still weak against the euro, value can still be found with wines from the Cotes du Rhone. The Vieux Logis (the Old Lodge) is a new brand that we've discovered recently that delivers on the promise of the '07 vintage with this excellent, estate-bottled Cairanne. A typical blend of Grenache/Syrah that is positively jammy; so intensely flavorful that the lean, green Rhone wines of lesser years becomes a distant memory. If you're tired of Cabernet this is the wine for you!
